Pride Book Club: We Have Always Been Here

7:00 PM – 8:30 PM
Brighouse

Description

Join a small group of other readers for a conversation facilitated by a librarian.

For July, we will be reading We Have Always Been Here: A Queer Muslim Memoir by Samra Habib

The Pride Book Club focuses on books written by authors from the LGBTQ2S+ (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Trans, Queer, Two-Spirit) community with a special interest in stories from Canada. We ask that Pride Book Club participants uphold a safe space for community members. All are welcome to attend.

This program will be held in person and is suitable for adults.

Mask wearing continues to be appreciated and encouraged in our libraries, especially in situations where maintaining personal space can be challenging.

How to borrow the book:

  • Once registered, you may visit the Brighouse Branch Ask Me desk on the second floor to borrow a book club copy (10 copies available on a first come, first serve basis).
  • Additional copies of the book are available to borrow in a variety of formats from Richmond Public Library.
  • A valid Richmond Public Library card is required to borrow books. Get a library card by visiting our website or speaking to staff at any of our branch locations.
