For fans of a new kind of "millennial literature" that is cynical about the world and full of dry humor. The story follows a 22-year-old Irish girl working in Hong Kong: she is very disaffected and makes questionable choices. Stay for the commentary on colonialism, capitalism, and abortion rights in Ireland. For fans of a new kind of "millennial literature" that is cynical about the world and full of dry humor. I really liked the idea of this story, but the text is missing something - better rhyming or no rhyming at all. The illustrations are adorable!

A picture book that made me think. If you read it a few times you notice little aspects of the illustrations that convey different meanings. It's about Native Americans being pigeonholed - and about them breaking free from forced assimilation.

A happy-tear kind of book. An old dog who does everything a little slower meets a companion who also does everything a little bit slower.

A wonderful nonfiction picture book account of how everyone in the world is both different and the same. The photographs are stunning.

Our main character Della is starting to better understand the abuse she and her sister suffered at the hands on an authority figure. Heavy topics, but done with grace.

What a beautiful memoir. You can tell this was such a labor of love for the author, to not only tell us the life moments that made him, but particularly what those moments meant and symbolized to him. The audiobook of this memoir is so lovely and I felt for his childhood. I loved how Tran weaved the books and music that made him, I thought it was always clever and subtle. This was so memorable to me and I will definitely reread. What a beautiful memoir. I've read all of Telgemeier's books except for this one - until now. It was quite interesting to follow Raina's trials and tribulations with her teeth. I think as a storyteller, Telgemeier has grown so much since Smile came out.

Lara Jean is a flawed character, but relatable at the same time. This is a story with romance that is ultimately about the bond of sisters.

I found this story a bit hard to follow with the multiple threads. I found it hard to follow the characters, too. I liked the art quite a bit. I also thought it skewed a bit older (late middle school/early high school).

A fun, fluffy romance with identical twins taking each other's places (hijinks ensue). I enjoyed the main character's personality even though her life circumstances were a bit far-fetched. I liked that beauty pageants and contestants were complex in this story.A fun, fluffy romance with identical twins taking each other's places (hijinks ensue). This hit the spot! I think the story and payoff is much better in this one than Click. I really enjoyed seeing the conflict, the different POVs, and then how the two girls resolved it. Definitely would recommend to late elementary/early middle school. This hit the spot! I think the story and payoff is much better in this one than Click. This was so lovely. I enjoyed how this portrayed unhealthy relationships one can have as a teen still trying to discover oneself. I sympathized with all the characters - maybe not Laura Dean - and loved the secondary characters too. I love the quietness and the dialogue. I loved the pink color palette and style. It felt like a Mariko Tamaki work, so it definitely worked for me.This was so lovely. I enjoyed how this portrayed unhealthy relationships one can have as a teen still trying to discover oneself. Good short graphic novel that follows two Indigenous teenage girls in Canada. It's a story about friendship and separation - but its backdrop is the huge problem of missing and murdered Indigenous women (stolen sisters). I wish this was longer and discussed the girls' berry fast + full moon + learning about their heritage from their families.Good short graphic novel that follows two Indigenous teenage girls in Canada.
