Orange Shirt Day is recognized every year on September 30 as a day to commemorate and honour the experiences of those who went to residential school and acknowledge the healing that must take place within Canada.This year, join
the library for a virtual film screening of Jordan River Anderson, The Messenger, the new film by acclaimed Abanaki director Alanis Obomsawin. In keeping with the theme of “Every Child Matters”, this film tells a story of contemporary injustice and the fight for equitable rights for all children living in Canada, including those in Indigenous communities.
For this virtual program, we'll be using Zoom. If you haven’t used Zoom before, click here for a video tutorial. You will need: A computer, smartphone, or tablet with a microphone and a webcam. A working email address is required for registration. A link will be sent to you within 24 hours of the program start.
