Learning Together is an 8-week program that helps parents and children, aged 3 to 5, build a love of reading together and improve literacy skills using the alphabet, numbers, stories and active play. Digital and physical literacy components are also included. It is administered by teachers and librarians with guest speakers who include a Registered Speech Language Pathologist, neurologist, Digital Services Technician and Certified Fitness Instructor.
The program is designed for parents and children to participate together and the focus will be on communication skills as well as activities that families can do at home, reinforcing the joy that comes from reading together. All materials and resources will be provided. Sponsored by the Ministry of Applied Skills and Technology. Participants must attend all 8 sessions. Registration required.
