1:00 PM – 3:00 PM
Brighouse

Description

Richmond Public Library is proud to present, in celebration of Asian History Month and in cooperation with artist Nikhat Qureshi and expert calligrapher Professor Laifong Leung, an afternoon of calligraphy where you can learn more about this diverse art style. Professor Leung has taught courses on the Evolution of Chinese Calligraphy at the University of Alberta. The event will include:

- Presentations on the appreciation and history of calligraphy
- Demonstrations of how to practice and write
- Hands on creative experience to implement what you've learned

Come get some ink on your hands as you learn how to put into practice real calligraphy, on your own at our stations or on our community calligraphy wall - you will have art to be able to take home with you!

Photo Procedure: Library staff may take photos and
videos to be used for promotional purposes by the library. If you would
prefer not to have your picture taken, please speak to a library staff
member. Participants of online programs and events are asked to not take
