Gardening Talk with Gary Lewis: Sizzling Succulents

Gary will introduce you to the fascinating world of succulents for the garden and the home. He will show a variety of hardy and non-hardy plants and will discuss their geographical origins, their biology, their value in design and how to grow them in the garden and in containers.


Speaker:

Gary Lewis is a Plantsman, Author, Speaker and Nursery Owner with a lifelong passion for plants. In 2004 while completing a Masters of Science degree in Botany, Gary became the owner of the local Richmond business Phoenix Perennials and has developed it into an award-winning nursery. He is a regular speaker at garden clubs around British Columbia and the Pacific Northwest and has appeared many times on radio and television. He has written for a variety of gardening magazines and his book The Complete Book of Ground Covers was published in 2022. In 2013 Gary was selected as Communicator of the Year by the BC Landscape and Nursery Association and in 2014 was selected as one of Canada's Top 10 Horticultural Professionals Under 40 by Greenhouse Canada magazine. He served on the board of directors for the Perennial Plant Association from 2009 to 2015 and is a committee member of Great Plant Picks.
