Join us for a parenting session focusing on how to establish boundaries and then follow through with predictable expectations and consequences in order to shape behaviour. We will be talking about how to set boundaries, when to say "no," and how to address the big emotions which can often come up during the follow through of rules.

There will be time for questions and conversation throughout the evening.

About the Presenter:  

Nicole Allen is a Registered Clinical Counsellor who, over the past decade, has worked with young people and their caregivers to build healthy relationships and strategies for managing big emotions. She offers private counselling in Fort Langley and Abbotsford and enjoys sharing what she's learned over the years with parents/caregivers. Nicole has previously partnered with Family Smart as their guest speaker for their Fraser Forum event in 2022, and also at this year's event on 16 October 2024 in Murrayville. She has a recorded resource available on the topic of Emotion Regulation on the Family Smart website, and will also be a speaker at the City of Mission Pulling Together Conference on 25 October on the topic of the importance of caregivers in supporting positive mental health outcomes for children. In 2022, Nicole hosted a province-wide webinar called Staying on the Path for parents/caregivers to support them in building and maintaining positive, healthy relationships with their children who were experiencing mental health crises. In her down time, Nicole enjoys spending time with her husband Mike, and four-legged friend Hector at their home in Abbotsford. They are the proud parents of 3 adult children.
