Do you love to read and talk about books? Join a small group of other readers for this one-hour, in-person conversation facilitated by a librarian, at the Steveston Library.

In September, we will be reading Janie Chang's The Library of LegendsChina, 1937: When Japanese bombs begin falling on the city of Nanking, 19-year-old Hu Lian and her classmates at Minghua University are ordered to flee. The convoy of students must walk a thousand miles to safety, under the constant threat of aerial attack. They carry with them a priceless treasure, a collection of myths and folklore known as the 'Library of Legends'. But after one classmate is murdered, Lian realizes she must escape from the convoy before a family secret puts her in even more danger.
