Employment Connections: Programs and Supports for Youth Jobseekers

Description

This is a free event for youth jobseekers (aged 15 to 24) to discover organizations offering help with:

  • Job search
  • Work experience
  • Training and upskilling
  • Resume and interview preparation

Find programs that best suit your needs, including support for those facing barriers to employment.

Drop in – no registration needed. This is not a job fair. No employers will be present.

Event Accessibility

We strive to offer accessible and inclusive events for everyone.

  • Ten (10) accessible parking spaces are available in the adjacent parkade and in front of Minoru Arena. Additional accessible parking is available throughout the Minoru complex, including the lot directly South of the Richmond Cultural Centre Annex (along Granville Ave).
  • Wheelchair accessible washrooms are on the main floor of the Richmond Cultural Centre building and on the 2nd floor of Brighouse Library (elevator access is available).
  • Sensory tools will be available for use by event participants, including calming items, fidget items and communication tools. Visit the AskMe Desk on 2/F to access these.
  • Participants who need a quiet space can speak to a staff member.
  • A magnifier will be available for use during this event from the Library resource table.

Employment Connections is a joint initiative of the Employment Resource Network, bringing together Richmond-based community organizations, the City of Richmond and Richmond Public Library to reduce and prevent poverty in Richmond.
