Description

Richmond Public Library, in partnership with the Lord’s Harvest Fellowship, is offering free Income Tax Clinics to help community members with low incomes file their income tax returns.

Eligibility:

Individuals are eligible for this free service if they have a maximum income of $40,000 per person or $55,000 per couple, plus $2,500 per child. Participants must register in advance, and couples must sign up for two sessions.

Individuals may not be eligible for this service if they:

  • Are self-employed or have employment expenses
  • Have business income and expenses
  • Have rental income and expenses
  • Have interest income over $1,000
  • Have capital gains or losses
  • Filed for bankruptcy
  • Are completing a tax return for a deceased person

Registration: 

Registration for the clinics will open on Wednesday February 18th. To register, please call 604-231-6413 or visit 2nd floor Ask Me Desk at the Brighouse branch. Participants will be given a registration package of forms to fill out prior to their appointment.

How It Works?

The clinic will be a document drop-off/pick-up clinic. You will be asked to drop off your documents at the beginning of your assigned time slot and pick them up after an hour. Please bring your photo ID and all required documents to your appointment (i.e. T4, T4A, T5, RRSP, etc.)

Dates and Times

  • The clinics will run on Saturdays from March 7 to April 25.  
  • March 7 sessions will be offered from 1:30pm to 4:30pm. 
  • Sessions from March 14 to April 25 will offered between 10:30am and 4:30pm. 
  • There will be no session on April 4 (Easter Weekend). 
  • Last appointment will be at 3:30PM.
