I would say this is definitely still pretty fun and interesting. My reading this time was super disjointed (there's a gap because it was a library book) but it was still super fun to read, still very engaging, and a quick read that sucks you right in. The world is really great and I really want to read more of it!
This book has to be one of my top favorites. I read this for the first time years ago and I've ended up rereading it over and over. It's a very timeless book that opens up to an amazing series with lots of humor and imagination. A lot of children authors have a hard time attaining this level of realistic parallel to mythology without sounding cliché or overexaggerated but Riordan did it perfectly. Would recommend, 11/10.
I like the book Percy Jackson 1. It is creepy and fantasy like, even with creatures from the underworld. My favorite part was when Grover and his mother got attacked by a bull-man. You should get this book because it's a great mystery book and a thriller. - Lorenzo, age 11
I think the first book is boring but once you get to the second book you are litterly glued to the other books in the series.Once you read the first series (this is the first series) then read the second series,The Heros Of Olympus, and the third series The Trials Of Apollo. Then read the norse books (Magnus Chase). Then read the egypt books (The King Cronicles). And then you are set.
I loved this series! I think the first book is the best. Whoever is reading this, you will love this book and the rest of them!
My favorite book I highly recommend this book and the other books in the series ! Worth reading over and over again.
This book is filled with adventure, suspense, thriller, sadness, and some fear. There are many emotions included within this book. While reading, I laughed, cried, feared and got scary vibes. This was my first ever book I read in 13 years and loved it. And I am very sure, I will finish reading the whole series.
Percy Jackson is a series with magnificent series. The author Rick Riorden adds so much detail into his books it always makes an outstanding book to read.
The book has the ultimate parent agreement - the kids love it, it is part educational, and is funny. What more could you need? Percy is a 12 year old boy who is living with his mom and step dad, Gabe. When he goes on a holiday in the summer with his mom, he finds out that his real dad is Poseidon, and there are more children like him. When he arrives at the camp for all the demigods, he finds out he needs to stop a war between the gods, or he might not be around for much longer. I would suggest this book for ages 10-16, because any younger and it would be too scary, and any older and it would be boring. This book is lots of fun, and I suggest it a lot.
This was one of the first book series I always aspired to read, even though my kid-self had thought reading was one of the worst activities in the whole world. Percy's constant sarcasm and heroic quests is the reason I savor every moment I have reading.
Percy Jackson & The Lightning Thief is a worldwide bestseller & for good reason. The story of the young demi-god, Percy Jackson as he finds himself immersed in the world of heroes and the great Greek gods is so captivating as a reader. Rereading this book multiple times it holds the same excitement as the first read. The world building is so well done it has a sense of familiarity and excitement at the same time. I greatly admire the way Riordan writes all the characters not just the main leads, to be very three-dimensional each with their own backstory and purpose. Well deserving of its popularity and can be read again and again. 5 Stars

The Lightning Thief is an admirable book devoted to Greek mythology. It is about a demigod who doesn't know what he is until Greek demons start attacking him. So with the help of his friend, who just happens to be a satyr, he makes his way to the only safe place in the world for demigods: Camp Half-Blood. This camp reveals so much about about the unknown: Gods, afterlife, heaven, hell, and much more that are answered throughout the journey. Just as soon as he arrived Percy is forced to leave to find the missing lightning bolt and return it to Zeus before a Godly war erupts. One thing though is definite, not only are the Gods real, every Greek demon is real. This book is very thrilling and will keep you addicted since the first page. I could not stop reading it. The Lightning Thief is the first book in the Percy Jackson and the Olympians series. Rick Riordan maintains excitement and adventure throughout this book and the full series. Don't worry if you don't know anything about Greek mythology, you will still understand and love this book. 5 stars.

Truly an exceptional book. I finished in less than 5 days (that’s how good it was). The Genre is Fantasy. It makes you feel as if you are in their world and experiencing everything that the characters are. It was one of the best books I have ever read. I really did not like reading until I read this book. I was hooked from the first page and I was always wondering what was going to happen next. This book is appropriate, and young kids and teenagers can read it. It was a relaxing book to read as it made me forget about my everything and just focus on it. I would live this book a 5 out of 5 stars because it really was a perfect book. I recommend it to young kids and teenagers.

Rick Riordan is the funniest MG writer I know, and this iconic start to his world of the Olympians is worth reading again and again.
This book is SO GOOD! I've probably read it a dozen times and it seems like it gets better each time. Definitely would recommend it.
I LOVED THIS BOOK!!!! I am very into Greek mythology and this book series is probably your best bet if you want to find something actually interesting and fun. I can rarely find a book this well written! I finished this book in two days flat. Yes I know I'm a nerd :)
This book was very interesting and I really enjoyed it. There was lots of action and adventure. Percy Jackson has unique characteristics and is very cool. His friend Grover is a very funny character and is half man – half goat. Annabeth who is Percy’s girlfriend is a very kind person and is also very smart. The book was really well written in terms of the fighting scenes. This book had many suspenseful parts as well which left me very determined to find out what was going to happen next. I felt very connected to this book because it gets very emotional at some parts too.
I enjoyed this book so much! Its a really nice introduction to Percy's world of mythology, and the way Rick Riordan characterizes all the different mythological characters is really awesome. Almost makes you believe that us mortals can't see any of this through the mist. :P
Percy Jackson is in quite a predicament. Zeus has lost his lightning bolt and blames him for it. There fallows an adventurous time where they try to bring it back. Review by Avonlea.
This book was very, very well done!! There was so many details in it, but what I thought sucked about it, was the chapters. They were all like, 22 pages long. But, at least they were very detailed. So detailed, that they were just like short stories, that all follow along the same way...if you know what I mean?? But I still think it was very well done, and very detailed. If you like action/fantasy stories, I totally recommend you read this.
When I went to summer school, we had a novel study which was the Percy Jackson and the Olympians; The Lightning Thief. At first, I thought like why is our teacher making us read this ridiculous boyish book. But what I didn't know was that it was about to become my favorite series. ;)
