Like the first book in the series, didn't bother to finish this story because it just wasn't very compelling. The author tries but does not deliver a believable love story. The chemistry between the hero and heroine just isn't there and Genevieve's refusal to see her family is ridiculous. I'm sure that it ultimately had a happy ending and was neatly tied up, but like I said, I just didn't care to spend any more time reading this story.

This author is one of the best in historical fiction. Highlander Most Wanted is book 2 of a trilogy and one should read book 1 (Never Seduce a Scot) to get the full depth of this series. Book 3 will be out in 2014. Books 1 & 2 were excellent and I wish it were not such a long wait. The writer draws you in and you don't want these books to end. As a previous reader has stated, this is a serious read so if you are looking for a light, rose coloured romance ~ this isn't it. This has a heroine who faces a horrible ordeal and not only survives but comes out stronger. We're given a great hero and wonderful secondary characters.

The description listed for this book is actually for another Maya Banks novel (Never Love a Highlander). Highlander Most Wanted is actually the story of Genevieve McInnis and Bowen Montgomery, and is the second book of the Montgomerys and Armstrongs book series. This book picks up immediately after the first book (Never Seduce a Scot) ends, and references characters/events from that book frequently. Therefore, it's beneficial to read that novel prior to reading this one. I enjoyed this book, but the heroine has had (and continues to have throughout the book) a very tragic life. Because of this, you're rooting for her to get her 'happy ending' with her hero. That said, it is a very angst-filled novel, so don't expect a 'light read'.

Below is the correct book description:

Genevieve McInnis is locked behind the fortified walls of McHugh Keep, captive of a cruel laird who takes great pleasure in ruining her for any other man. Yet when Bowen Montgomery storms the gates on a mission of clan warfare, Genevieve finds that her spirit is bent but not broken. Still, her path toward freedom remains uncertain. Unable to bear the shame of returning to a family that believes her dead or to abandon others at the keep to an imposing new laird, Genevieve opts for the peaceful life of an abbess. But Bowen's rugged sensuality stirs something deep inside her that longs to be awakened by his patient, gentle caress - something warm, wicked, and tempting.

Bowen seizes his enemy's keep, unprepared for the brooding and reclusive woman who captures his heart. He's enchanted by her fierce determination, her unusual beauty, and her quiet, unfailing strength. But wooing her will take more than a seasoned seducer's skill. For loving Genevieve, he discovers, means giving her back the freedom that was stolen from her - even if it means losing her forever.
