Well, darlings - This is absolute bottom-of-the-barrel when it comes to the Rollings Stones' music.

Are you ready to hear to The Rolling Stones at their absolute, most despicable worst??..... Well, if so, then you need look no further than 1967's Their Satanic Majesties Request.

Believe me, (with the exception of "She's A Rainbow") the nine remaining songs on this CD are nothing but tuneless, forgettable junk. This is easily The Rolling Stones, literally, scraping the very bottom of the rock'n'roll barrel.

Years after this putrid album was released, Keith Richards actually came out on record to say (and, I quote) - "The album was a load of crap." (I certainly can't argue with that statement)

And, unless one is totally stoned right out of their ever-loving head, I couldn't imagine even a die-hard Stones fan ever giving the thumbs-up to this heap of pop excrement.

Apparently this trashy album was The Rolling Stones' jealous, snooty, little answer to The Beatles' Sgt. Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band lp., which had come out the same year (1967), six months earlier.

This has always been one of my favorite Stones' albums. Listen closely for Steve Marriot's backing vocals on "In Another Land!"

Even though it's a very unconventional album by terms of their usual output, this is a great album. The title is a snub on the queen, alluding to what's written on the British passport! This is not, a Sgt. Pepper rip-off, it's what all great artists do when another invents a new form, which is to do your own version ala that style (not the same thing). The Stones create a surrealistic atmosphere, full of innovation and magic! This has always been a controversial album, but I say, on with the show! Awesome!
