Life 2.0 follows a group of people whose lives are dramatically consumed by the virtual world of Second Life. More than an examination of a hot new technology, Life 2.0 is an intimate, character-based drama about people who look to a virtual world in search of something they are missing in their real lives. The results are unexpected and often disturbing: reshaping relationships, identities, and ultimately the very notion of reality.

What a fascinating film about literally creating your own world, a virtual world. There's a lot going on in the virtual world (VW) that I've only formerly heard about years ago but never quite understood, let alone give it a second thought. It's a place to unleash your creative talents and interact with others. There's no mistaking that the investment of time into the VW, which brings these avatars and virtual property to become, in a way, tangible, seem to blur the lines between the real and virtual worlds. In other ways, it provides a pathway to explore thoughts and feelings that are difficult to do so in the RW, making virtual worlds like Second Life seem more...

almost surreal documentary about some people whose lives INSIDE the computer guide their outer, "real" (errr ummm where you eat food and sleep and stuff...) lives more strongly than vice-versa. super interesting stories, and all different enough to carry the film along at a nice pace. there are also some interesting philosophical questions that crop up in the process. as far as the film itself, it's about a 3-and-a-half star-er, but it's just so fascinating it's worth another half-star. i almost feel like an asshole being so interested.

absolutely amazing individual stories. 5 stars absolutely original and even has a few twists in it. doesnt give justice to the amount of money needed to do some of the stuff they did/build though.
