In this novel in the #1 New York Times bestselling series, supernaturally gifted waitress Sookie Stackhouse is pitted against the legacy of her own undead bloodline in that most haunted of cities, New Orleans...

Since Louisiana cocktail waitress Sookie Stackhouse has so few living relatives, she hates to lose one--even her cousin Hadley, undead consort of the vampire queen of New Orleans. Hadley's left everything she had to Sookie, but claiming that inheritance has a high risk factor. Some people don't want her looking too deeply into Hadley's past or Hadley's possessions. And they're prepared to do anything in their power to stop her...

Definitely not my favorite book of the series... I wasn't to keen on her relationship with Quinn. However, still a good read, just not one of the best from the series.

Fun, fast read. Good storyline with a rather satisfying ending that sets us up for things to come. On to the next one....

My favorite of the series so far, though I could do with less Quinn and more Eric!

I don't like the idea that she got together with Quinn... though the book was good... I finished the whole series in less then half a month... overall a great book!!

This book can be called a main plot book as it expands and deals with the big picture in the Southern vampire series. New characters are introduced and new agendas are set out. Definitely worth reading!

Sookie's life is taking a sharp turn to the left. As her cousin's sole heir, she needs to clean out her apartment and claim her inheritance. The Vampire Queen of Louisiana wants her services at the upcoming vampire summit. Her brother Jason may be close to getting married. And Quinn, a were-tiger, seems interested in her for more than business purposes.

Mixed into this are an ongoing series of attacks by Weres, a revelation about Bill's original interest in Sookie and the secret to why she is so attractive to the supernatural set.

Definately Dead reminded me why I like this series so much. Author Charlaine Harris has no qualms to do something that many series authors fail miserably at; she keeps her characters fresh by having them grown and change. Sookie is not the same woman she was in the first book. Her relationships (and those of the people around her) have changed. This keeps the series fresh and exciting. Which keeps readers coming back for more.

This girl suffers far too many injuries. How much can she take?
