"Lexi?" Eric has noticed my expression. "Is this jolting your memory?"
"Yes!" I can't help a joyful smile. "I remember that guy on the left." I point at the screen. "I'm not sure who he is exactly, but I know him. Really well! He's warm, and funny, and I think maybe he's a doctor... or maybe I met him in a casino-"
"Lexi..." Eric gently cuts me off. "That's George Clooney, the actor."

Add a CommentA quick, fun read! Some truly laugh-out-loud moments. I do recognize a lot of similarities between this book and What Alice Forgot by Liane Moriarty, though. I think I like the latter a bit better. But this one was a nice, light read that kept me turning the pages till the very end!
This is one of the funniest books I've ever read, and it's just entertaining from cover to cover. I love Sophie Kinsella and this book is perfect for young and older girls and women, because it's just a great laugh all the way through. Definitely a must read if you haven't yet picked it from the shelves!
Just re-read this one.....thoroughly enjoyed it again!
A patron review from the Adult Summer Game: "An enjoyable read by Sophie Kinsella. It was an entertaining, quick read!"
Another good read from Sophie Kinsella. The issue of amnesia is handled in a way that offers humour and sensitivity. Forgetting the last three years and awaking into a wealthy though emotionally impoverished life, the story presents many interesting possibilities. The romantic angle is there throughout, but not in the typical way and not really the main event. And that's OK!
As a huge fan of Sophie Kinsella’s books, this stand alone was a must read for me. I must say, it didn't become a new favorite book or anything but it was a good read all together. The story revolves around twenty five year old Lexi Smart, after she got into an accident she wakes up in the hospital realizing she is 3 years into her future and things have changed, a lot. She is now 28 and doctors have told her she is suffering from amnesia, which is why she can’t remember anything that happened these past 3 years. Not only does she have straight teeth, but designer clothes, a really hot husband, and a gorgeous house. But there’s something about this new glamour’s life that’s been bugging Lexi, something about her new way of living just doesn't seem her. She wants to find out how so much changed in just three years, and the only person who has the answer for that is the really cute architect, who seems to be the only one who knows the real Lexi. This book was no exception to Sophie Kinsella’s other books; there were many jokes and mishaps as Lexi tries to come to terms with her new and glossy life. I really liked Lexi; she was such a likable protagonist simply because she was so easy to connect to because she was just so relatable. Even though this book was a very light hearted, quick summer read, I couldn't put it down because I truly wanted Lexi to have her happy ending, she really deserved it.
I really enjoyed this book! It has an interesting plot with a touch of humour.
Lexi Smart wakes up in a hospital and thinks she's there because of a minor accident in 2004. The truth is, she's "memorily challenged." In other words, she is there because of a car accident in 2007 and has lost her memory of the last three years! More importantly it is in these last three years that she has morphed from a not so pretty, but friendly, full of fun person to a "B*&^% Boss" who is skinny and pretty and is not liked by anyone. Lexi cries out that unlike a computer which can be backed up she wishes she could have backed up her brain! A well-conceived plot where the amnesia theme has been exploited to the fullest and as in all Sophie Kinsella books romance features high on the list of topics. I would recommend this book.
"Twenty-five-old Lexi faces some unusual problems when she wakes up in a hospital. She's actually 28 -- and doesn't remember anything of the preceding three years, during which she apparently married an attractive millionaire, embarked on a successful career, and got the perfect body/hair/teeth/handbag she always wanted. Unfortunately, life's not all good -- she's also somehow become the boss from hell and has alienated every single one of her friends. And that handsome husband? There's no chemistry. With a great deal of humour, author Sophie Kinsella showcases Lexi's struggles to go from "the perfect life" to one that actually makes her happy." not as good as the shopaholic series, but still captivating and interesting!
