Excellent latest edition on composting with worms. A recommended read for anyone looking to get into vermiculture

This book might be a good starter guide, but I think "The Worm Book" by Nancarrow and Taylor, is better. Nancarrow's book heavily references Appelhof's book, and it obviously takes less time to read one book rather than two. I strongly disagree with Appelhof on two counts. 1) She suggests that composting worms won't survive in your garden. This sounds wrong on its face, especially if you're using organic methods and mulch. 2) She advocates for cruel vermicomposting methods I, such as the "die-off method" to create vermicast, which requires intentionally starving your worms to death, just to create better compost and have your worm bins be "hassle-free." Beyond being cruel, it's also counter-intuitive. More worms means more composting capacity, so why would you want to purposely kill them off?
