An ideal movie for young women from 12 to 40 and old "plains' states" expatriates. This "southern movie" as another called it, was made in northeast Oklahoma from country where Will Rogers was conceived and raised (on a 60,000 acre ranch - poor lad). These people as portrayed are affectionately called "Oakies" as in Grapes of Wrath by John Steinbeck (required reading for those young who want to know what America is about). The "Mother Highway" old Route 66 runs through town, probably in front of the Wal*Mart. Old_toto knows people and situations from real life that the actors accurately portray, including the speech patterns.
A nice feel good movie. Extremely sweet and warm to the heart.
This movie was so amazing and heart warming I encourge watching!!
Novalee Nation is a dreamer. During a move she ends up abandoned by her baby's Father at a Wal-Mart. She is helped along by strangers during the delivery, and grows into the community by working and living there. Finding love and friends and family, she is empowering.
