This is mostly in response to other reviews:
I first saw this when it was released in theaters, though it's not perfect, I thought it was well done. Tilda Swinton deserved all the accolades she got as the mother beset by an extortion demand; the relationship her character's son has with a questionable individual is an integral part of the demand. And even if there's some denials on one person's part, you'd love to have Swinton's character on your side to do whatever is possible. Though it may come at the cost of some mental anguish. In addition, the scenery of Lake Tahoe locations- where the film is set- are put to good use.
A not so thrilling tale of a mother's need to protect her child. Right from the beginning, one can sense that the mother will only be making things worse by becoming invovled in the son's affairs. Unfortunately, the film just continues on a downward spiral. Skip this one!
It was O.K for a home TV movie. I was entertained and interesting. But it was NOT worth the long library wait or the price to rent from a Red Box. "I fast forwarded a lot but not all the way.”
So-so movie. There were a few twists and turns, but not a great film. Swinton seemed to be a mismatch for her role.
Feel like watching TV drama, boring
