In Groundswell, Ezra Levant examines the fracking revolution. With natural gas in abundance, prices fall and the stranglehold by energy companies like Russia's Gazprom loosens. OPEC, environmentalists, and communities throughout North America are fighting hard to stop fracking, and Levant debunks their motivations and arguments, while arguing that fracking's benefits outweigh its costs, even environmentally. With Ethical Oil, Levant completely changed the debate surrounding Canada's oil sands. In this timely and controversial book he provides desperately needed perspective.

This book is the most deceptive piece of propaganda I have read in a while. I hope the author visits some of the hard hit communities due to fracking by the gas industries, drinks the water there, and lives in the worst areas for 6 months. Then he could write a relevant book. The techniques used in this book are used by many 'merchants of doubt,' -- from the tobacco industry, to the chemical pesticide industry.

Oh and the gas fracking industry is exempt from the Clean Air Act, the Clean Water Act, and the Super Fund Act. Quite telling as it shows that this industry can get away with horrific destruction of the biosphere with no accountability.

When I was in university, you couldn't go a week without hearing some champagne socialist lecture everyone about their pie-in-the-sky ideas for Canada's energy future. Unfortunately, the real world doesn't run on smiles - and it certainly doesn't run on impractical and costly methods such as wind and solar. But with the advances in hydraulic fracturing (aka fracking), which releases less carbon dioxide into the atmosphere than coal and lowers the price of natural gas for everyone, you'd think people would be ecstatic. But as Ezra Levant demonstrates in Groundswell, you have a group of perpetual activists that won't be satisfied until we all ride around on bicycles and heat our homes with candles like something out of a Charles Dickens novel. Thoroughly dismantling all the myths and falsehoods surrounding fracking, Levant shows just how important it can be to fledgling democracies around the world and to our own domestic economy. Bottom line: if you want realistic and achievable energy solutions, read this book. But if you want chase unicorns from the confines of your parents basement, keep parroting all the canards you see in "documentaries" like Gasland.

"scientific consensus" is a figment of one's imagination. Make up your mind, don't let others decide for you: read the book and arrive to your own conclusions. http://info.drillinginfo.com/10-reasons-fracking-improves-american-lives/

Big Oil propaganda shill, we are truly scrapping the bottom of the cesspool now...

When the scientific consensus demands switching away from fossil fuel immediately to avoid irreversible environmental catastrophe, imbeciles like this propaganda-artist are supporting even more risky ways to extract fossil fuel!

An easy read, breezy journalistic style. The author is biased, but makes some good arguments.

A bit condescending but worthwhile read. Disputes the anti fracking claims and shows how this process can free up citizens around Eastern Europe from Russia's gas dominance. Definitely worth reading.
