Dana and Lily Underwood were the closest of sisters, growing up on the Connecticut shore and sharing a passion for sailing and the sea. Their bond only grew stronger through the years, as Dana pursued a career as an artist and Lily married and began a family.

When the unthinkable occurs, Dana returns to the scene of her childhood to become a mother to her nieces, Allie and Quinn, who harbors dark suspicions about what happened to her parents. Support comes to Dana unexpectedly in the person of Sam Trevor, a marine biologist who had once taken sailing lessons from Dana and Lily. As Dana searches for the truth behind what happened to her sister one summer night, she must find the strength to look into her own heart for the truth about her future.

Great novel on sisterly bond and coping with grief. Loved the fantasy used by the author to animate her characters, and touch of paranormal belief. Will Dana find love and strive to live again?
