We are checking out this audiobook trilogy (Breadwinner, Parvana's Journey, and Mud City) for a second time. We last listed to it when my older children were 8 and 9, and now they are 10 and 11. They say they like these books so much because they are so realistic and interesting. They are very drawn to the characters, the way they handle their difficult circumstances, the way it has helped them sort of understand what it must be like to be a refugee or a child in a war-torn country.
