An excellent writer, though there are too many annotations referencing newspaper articles instead of the original research. Additionally the author ignored some research that provides evidence on the benefit of grass fed whole milk that was out with time to make it into her book. Read the Big Fat Surprise for more information on that. The interesting parts of the book which had have been taken up in other works is the uselessness of the food guides as they are guided by poor science (originally no science)and lobby groups. Worth reading if you are not up on some of the arguments from In Defense of Food by Michael Pollan with respect to avoiding processed foods or if you are seeking specific information on milk products and some easy alternatives to getting your daily calcium requirements.

Well-researched and well-written, the book serves as a reminder that in today's world, we need to be asking questions and looking carefully at what we are consuming as food.
