Newly discharged from the Marines after World War II, Scotty Bowers arrived in Hollywood in 1946. Young, charismatic, and strikingly handsome, he quickly caught the eye of many of the town's stars and starlets. He began sleeping with some himself, and connecting others with his coterie of young, attractive, and sexually free-spirited friends. His own lovers included Edith Piaf, Spencer Tracy, Vivien Leigh, Cary Grant, and the abdicated King of England Edward VIII, and he arranged tricks or otherwise crossed paths with Tennessee Williams, Charles Laughton, Vincent Price, Katharine Hepburn, Rita Hayworth, Errol Flynn, Gloria Swanson, Noel Coward, Mae West, James Dean, Rock Hudson and J. Edgar Hoover, to name but a few.Full Service is not only a fascinating chronicle of Hollywood's sexual underground, but also exposes the hypocrisy of the major studios, who used actors to propagate a myth of a conformist, sexually innocent America, knowing full well that their stars' personal lives differed dramatically from this family-friendly mold. As revelation-filled as Hollywood Babylon, Full Service provides a lost chapter in the history of the sexual revolution and is a testament to a man who provided sex, support, and affection to countless people.

Absolute Rubbish - Proves Any Hobo Can make money selling Nonsense

SMBE Mar 05, 2013

Too much detail that should have remained private. What people do in private is their business & should remain so especially after they have died since they cannot refute it. To much explicit sexual detail. I wonder how much of it is (was) true. It made me wish the moral code (that he eludes to) was never abolished.

Vile. Disgusting. Nauseating. Contains explicit language, detailed homosexuality. The author starts out being molested my a friend's father at 8 years old (yet did not feel disgusted!!!) Then another pedophile came around and performed oral sex on him. Next thing you know he was a shoe shine boy and newspaper delivery boy. It's the depression. Suddenly another dirty old man gives him the eye. He is being paid by over a dozen priests to be molested. Once again, he never feels horrified or abused. He feels he is earning money and doing those poor, lonely pedophiles a favour! sometimes he describes how much he enjoys these experiences. WTF! Then in highschool he would attend parties where he would go in a room and one at a time the men would take a turn with him for pocket change (up to 15 men in 1 evening). Honestly these stories made me want to throw up and I am imagining that this child had every STD imaginable. Later as an adult he was still turning tricks with men and women and helping friends to do so, and through this, he met some famous people. Also he participated in the war against Japan, where after a battle, he proclaimed "as long as my c*** and b**** were intact, I could still enjoy my life".... I don't know how many of the stories are true (take a nap in a park, a stranger comes and gives you oral sex). Nasty. Disturbing.
