In this parallel novel to Catboy, the story is now told by the cat, not the boy. An amazing tale on its own, it is made more amazing when two sides are exposed. Where in the previous bookTaylor needed the cat’s trust, here the cat debates whether to trust him or not. Hunter, the cat, is more or less happy in the junkyard. He has a family, he has food to hunt and space to roam. His only problem is the king of the colony, who oddly enough is named King. Until the boy comes. Hunter, always distrustful of humans, gives him a wide berth. But he comes around to liking the boy after Taylor saves him from dogs and then an infection. But new things are arousing in the yard. Cars being removed but not replaced. A new wooden fence and posters depicting buildings. The colony is in danger, it is now more than ever when Hunter must decide to trust the boy to him and his family or not. As good a read as Catboy, it isn’t worth it unless you read one book right after the other.

Canadian Author Eric Walters ‘Hunter’ - Sequel to Catboy was a very entertaining juvenile rated book to read. You do not have to love cats, or animals for that matter, to enjoy this book. If you enjoyed this book, Eric Walters ‘End of Days’ is a must read; however it is recommended for older juvenile or teenage/adult readers. Doctor-at-Bass! T. A.
