"Cold Case Vancouver" is not the riveting read I'd hoped for; as the author points out in the introduction, there is something unsatisfying about a book of unsolved crimes, as there is no payoff at the end for the reader.

With the exception of the 'Babes in the Woods' case, none of the deaths have a real sense of mystery about them; they are mostly of the 'wrong place at the wrong time' variety, and not especially interesting.

After a while, the cases all seem to blend into the others --and while they're all sad, they're only mildly interesting.
