In this realistic fiction book, Gittel- a seventeen year old quite girl, soon to be eighteen, is ready to get married and about to start her life as a wife. But her past hasn’t bothered her until recently when she understands it all and puts the pieces together. Something horrible has happened to her best friend Devory that she will never forget. For years it has been haunting her and now she realizes she cannot stay quite any longer. This book was very interesting to see what life is like in a closed community in Brooklyn. I would recommend this for anyone 14 and older.
