Funnest chapter book ever! A cool fantasy tale told in rhyme. Katrina Catrell finds herself on an adventure in Zorgamazoo in this unique book. There are cool and creepy characters in every chapter (think Dr. Seuss style characters in a big kid book). Read it out loud to add to the fun.

This is the best book ever! It was awesome, filled with rhymes! Katrina is probably my favourite character. Harrypotterding , I don't think the story was weak. It was full of adventure throughout. Oh, the rhymes were great! It inspired me to write a rhyming story myself. I'm making a summary about it, so read it!

It was a little disappointing because the story was really weak.

Zorgamazoo is written entirely. in. rhyme. Which makes it impossible not to read aloud. Seriously, you'll read the first two lines and be compelled to say them out loud. The meter is solid the whole way through, too, and the vocabulary is unusually lush and expressive.

Characters and plot don't suffer because of the rhyme, either. katrina is a brave heroine who has her tantrum-y moments. Morty never wanted to be a hero, but he learns in his own timid yet appealing way that being a hero comes in many different ways. A truly fantastical storyline keeps readers captive with Enchantium gas, a scarily boring alien planet named Graybalon-Four and on Doctor LeFang armed with a "Cranial Puncturing Mincer of Mind". There isn't a lack for touching scenes, either; Weston cleverly turns a death into an occasion to celebrate:

Don't worry, my reader. No need to be sad. / A death isn't always entirely bad. / Among zorgles, for instance, a life that is long / is a life best remembered with dancing and song. (272)

Oh, and you cannot overlook the illustrations and design. Victor Rivas Villa has the most adorable detailed illustrations of Katrina, Morty and many other characters, and Christian Fuenfhausen, miracle book designer that he is, uses a wondrous variety of fonts. They're so awesome it's mindboggling!

An odd, funny, short book written entirely in rhyme, Zorgamazoo is not everybody’s cup of tea,
But I would recommend at least giving it a try if you have some spare time.
P.S. I read it in two hours, it’s that short.

A fun book to read aloud but requires a child who no longer needs many pictures. It is a prize winner from the grades three to six demographic.

Katrina Katrell is a girl with big imagination. So when she finds a zorgle-Morty- she's determined to help him find the zorgles of Zorgamazoo. But when they arrive in Zorgamazoo, they figure that other mythical creatures have also disappeared! They travel to the moon, and when they return, bring thousands of creatures with them. The sad part of the story is when Morty and Katrina visit Morty's father, and he dies after telling Morty what a great son he's been. You should definitly read this book!
