This book was okay. Not my favourite by her. I do find it drags on a bit once he returns home until the very ending of the book. Overall i give it three stars.

I generally really like Scottoline’s books but found this one dragged on a bit until the last few chapters where it got really good. An okay read.

I read this in one sitting! Couldn't put it down. Army doctor Mike Scanlon must fight the most important battle of his life to save his family.

A satisfying read. High interest, fast moving, characters are interesting (likeable as well as unlikeable) and the plot weaves in and out. Just when you think you have it figured out, things change. A good quick read.

Absolutely loved this book! Mike must deal with tragedies from Afghanistan, the loss of his wife, and rejection by his little girl. The plot moves smoothly and quickly through the ensuing events to create a compelling story. Would definitely recommend it.

An OK read, it at least provided insight to the world of the army and it's long lasting nightmares. I found the story was repetitive and lacked momentive and then it was quickly wrapped up in the last few chapters. She has written better novels. This is just mediocre.

Very well written, definitely a good read.
Keeps the reader's attention. I enjoyed the story and the mystery that went along with it.

Loved this book. Different than my usual reads, the story was sad and gives insight into what a person deals with when they are grieving over multiple losses. Would recommend

First book I read by this author and it did NOT live up to the hype. I thought Mike Scanlon was not a believable character and overall it was a disappointment. I am unlikely to try another by this author....
