good addition after the 3rd book, which i thought for sure was the last one, that had a satifying ending. i don't really think that he should've written a fourth, but if he had to this was a good addition to the series, setting up for another big plot, maybe 6 books? Nothing was really acomplished in this book, which was annoying. i feel like most of the missions and things were just filler because he wanted to do another book

An interesting addition to the Miss Peregrine's series. It still contains most of your favorite characters from past books in the series and creepy vintage photos, but I feel that the photos are weaker than in previous books.

Overall, it's pretty good. There are a few situations that the characters get into where you think, "Come on; you should know better..." but there were a good number of plot twists to keep it interesting. The frustrating thing about it is that by the time you get two thirds of the way through, you know for sure it's just setting the stage for a much larger plot than can be contained in one book. Therefore, you spend the last third of the book coming to terms with not getting any answers or resolution until the next book comes out, and since this one was just released, it might be a while...

Three years after the publication of Library of Souls the peculiar characters return for A Map of Days. Jacob has returned to his home in Florida back to normal life but soon enough Miss Peregrine and the peculiar children are on his doorstep, having travelled to his home for his help in settling into the modern day world. Jacob, Emma and the rest of the children are then spun into a great mystery and new quest after they find a hidden bunker in Abe's house filled with secrets.

Although it is a direct continuation of the series it definitely feels like a whole new series and story arc from the same characters now that the peculiars are in Jacob's world and modern day America which is out of their comfort zone and the loop they spent so many years in. I love that during the first three books Jacob was mostly in their world and now they are in his world so it's a whole new layout with new challenges and because of that I was easily absorbed into this book after the time away from this world.

One of my favourite parts of this book was the interaction between Jacob and Emma as they are romantically involved but she has some odd history and although she looks to be the same age as Jacob at sixteen she is actually in her eighties and exchanged letters with his grandfather, whom she loved, for many years. Obviously, this is one of the weirdest love triangles you can think of because while his grandfather moved on and grew older and had a family Emma was in her loop not aging and still very much in love with him until Jacob came into the loop. That's explored more in this book as she comes into the modern day and sees his home and really has a chance to mourn him and his memory.
