In the course of shattering the myth of the starving artist, Jeff Goins shatters several other beliefs like not being born an artist rather becoming one. Surprisingly he also advocates "stealing" from earlier artists rather than trying to be original. He explains how to be stubborn positively and to cultivate mentors. Also mentioned in the book is the importance of ownership of one's creations. All in all a useful book for anyone who wants to be a creator of any kind.

Yes, great advice. And I recommend - Jeff Goins' earlier book, " The Art of Work: A Proven Path To Discovering What You Were Meant To Do " Nelson, 2015

It should be on the VPL's List ASAP! Inspirational, subtle, and many deep insights for any one, as well as outstanding interviews/examples.

Excellent book - I wish this had of existed when I was young and my parents shunned my artistic abilities and desire to live a creative life. However, it is never too late to bring back the real me, and this book helped show the way.
