It could have been so amazing;, the premise, the relevance, big stars and you'd think loads of talent taking care of this story. Sadly The Circle fell far from where it could have landed. The director gave up it seems and what is left is disjointed and unsatisfying. Do yourself a favour and cancel your hold and get The Hollars instead.

I'm amazed at the long line of people waiting to view this movie - the book must have been good. If so, this movie will sorely disappoint - there just really isn't much to it. It's really weak. You should save yourself a couple of hours and find something else to do.

Fairly disappointing indeed. I love Tom Hanks but he wasn't much on screen. Emma's acting not so great. Terrible screenplay. Just didn't come together for me. As others have said, it's boring.

Not so much badly produced, written, or acted, but in the end, it just seemed a pointless exercise. Perhaps younger people, who are more deeply involved in their social media presence, would be more engaged with the film, and it's message of the dangers of Big Brother. I found it all pretty dull and redundant.

I'm never one to be unkind, but this film disappoints. The story began, the characters established themselves, but then the entire middle of the film was confusing, vague and the ending left me wondering, "And what now?" I guess I should have read the book first. Sorry, but I did give it a chance.

I think Zuckerberg edited this movie. After bringing up so many fascinating ideas about privacy in the modern world, this movie abandons them to an abrupt, nonsensical ending.

READ THE BOOK! I was very excited to see that this was going to become a movie and waited with great expectation. It was very disappointing compared to the book. (Expectation is the death of serenity!) Having enjoyed Hologram for the King film, I'll have to go back and read the book.(by the same author as the Circle) to see what I missed by not reading the book. Great author, yet disappointing in the screenplay area.

Read the book first. The author has a very good message to all of us (though he sure takes a long, slow time to tell it!). I recommend the book to everyone, and especially to the director of the movie, because I don't think he read the last half of the book! The first half of the movie is fine, and then it totally tanks! When they stop following the book, it all goes down the toilet. I would give the first half four stars, the second half negative stars. It's that bad. The ending doesn't even make a shred of sense.
