Great soundtrack to go with a high-octane action suspense film. Highly recommended.

Gratuitous violence and impossible evasion tactics. The car driving stunts are entertaining, but the cuts are so short that it indicates that the stunts are short (compare to an old-school Jackie Chan film where they use long shots because the actors know how to stunt fight for minutes in one continuous shot). How many times can you be at the wrong end of a loaded gun & get away? Watch this film to find out & be prepared to listen to some 80's Lionel Ritchie. There's also a love story to round out the Hollywood predictability.

Fun!

Baby Driver is Edgar Wright's heist movie (like Shaun of the Dead was his Zombie movie, Hot Fuzz his cop movie and Scott Pilgrim his videogame movie) and it's pretty great. It's stylized to a fascinating degree, so much so that the Choreographer gets a big name billing in the opening credits. The integration of the action and soundtrack was meticulous and made me smile constantly. The main downsides to the movie are Wright's inability to write female characters and Kevin Spacey, whose career I don't really feel comfortable supporting any more.

This is a really well done movie. The story is engaging and the acting believable. The sync of the music to shots and angles is amazing and right on cue. The car stunts are fun. The addition of sign language brilliant in a movie based on music. The simple fact that it was created off of a music video 14 yrs earlier is excellent.

SPOILER ALERT. This movie is OK to watch if you are OK with fast paced action scenes, corny dialog, car chases, etc. What saved it was the realistic ending. The lovebirds do NOT drive off into the sunset together.

Not quite a musical, not quite anything in particular... Call it an action flick where the bad guys are mostly comic-book cliches and sometimes speak in rhyme. Characters sometimes sing, sometimes dance, sometimes try to do both at once. Some scenes teeter aimlessly on the brink of surreal. The soundtrack is dull and forgettable. Still, Ansel Elgort does a good job of playing the film's single interesting character, and the driving sequences are actually pretty good -- the only possible reasons to keep watching.

I spent the entire movie incredibly stressed out. I loved it.

IMDb has many choice quotes already but not these two yet as of today:
Your name's baby? B-a-b-y, baby?
-Yeah.
Well, then, you have us all beat. Every damn song is about you. We could drive back and forth across the states forever and never run out of "baby" songs. We might run out of gas, though.
===
It's Debbie. Debora.
-Oh, like the song. The Beck one? Yeah.
Well, except I'm d-e-b-o-r-a, and I think that's just d-e-b-r-a. I don't know that one.
-Oh, it goes, um... Jenny? The song's about him wanting to get with Jenny
and her sister, too, whose name is Debra.
So it's not even really about me. It's about the sister. My sister's name is Mary.
She has got all the songs. "Mary, Mary, where you goin' to?" "Proud Mary keep on burnin'." "The wind cries Mary." She's got me beat. Again. She's got endless songs. I got one.
-No, you got two.
What's the other one?
-Debora, the song I'm talking about.
Who by?
-Trex.
