Previews were good which drew me to want to see movie. Audio was bad and I did try two differant players. Not what I expected.

This movie was a real disappointment. I did not even finish it. To many graphic scenes. It was really a waste of time.!!!

I love litterature and I was interested to see this movie. It is the most boring movie ever, nothing to do with the classic litterature movie. Most of it is film in the house, some erotic scene, she murdered anybody who prevent her from being with her lover then at the end to save her skin accuse him of murder and the maid that protected her sins. The most horrible scene is when she kills her husband heir. She end up alone and pregnant with everybody deserting the house.

SPOILER ALERT; when you kill your husband in what could be portrayed as self defence that is one thing but when you smother a six year old boy to get what you want that is quite another.
Humans can be so cruel in day to day living that I don't see the need to watch it in a movie. Much better films out there....

Katherine is wife to a rich, cruel man in 1860s rural England. One feels for her until she starts behaving in unsavory ways. Is it that hurt people hurt people? Things go to extremes and all this plays out in the quiet solitude of an isolated mansion with well-mannered people drinking tea in their form-fitting attire. Florence Pugh is a revelation as Katherine. Other players are also strong. This film is beautifully shot. One is transported to another place and time, yet with the kind of horror one does not expect anywhere.

I didn't really feel connected at all to the characters except for one and that was Anna, the lady who waited on Katherine.

The story was too slow pace for my liking and it wasn't as developed as I thought it could be.

However I did like the time period it was set in as well as the costume and set designs!

A true film presenting a young woman's systematic handling of her reality. It's the woman against the men here folks, and she's mesmerizing.

Acting good but story seemed to be lacking. We were expecting much more.

I've not read the book but there must be more to it than what was presented here. The acting was good but the writing was not. Minimal character development in the beginning made me wonder why I should care about any of these people. This had potential to be really suspenseful, even scary, but at under 90 minutes I felt that this movie barely scrapes the surface.
