Charlize Theron's considerable talents are wasted as she portrays a predatory, amoral businesswoman --whose blouses just can't find those top three buttons--paired with an equally sleazy partner. They joyously abandon their colleague to a violent fate when it becomes clear that cooking the books of their marijuana business has succeeded a little too well. The film seems to champion cross-border partnerships, but the Mexicans have just as much corruption on their side. Ends in quite the bloodbath.
Action? Sure I guess. Crime? Well isn't all white collar business just that? There were a few laughs, mostly supplied by Charlize Theron's character's nasty attitude but that was about it. Rather ho hum and kind of boring.
Mexico has it's drug cartels. WE HAVE BIG PHARMA!
I loved this movie! Charlize has some classic one-liners, David O. is over the top and anything with Joel Edergton is okay in my book. Is it a classic? No. Is it amusing and entertaining? Definite yes!
I wanted it to be funny, but I didn't laugh once. Filled with ethnic stereotypes of Mexico and Mexicans with not one positive throw in until the end. Filled with unpleasant characters who don't garner any sympathy or interest. Pass on this.
A funny movie, great overt and deadpan comedy, some mayhem, but all’s well that ends well.
Oyelowo displays some great comedic chops as the honest but ill-used Harold, and while the story and characters aren't particularly original, the solid performances of the cast and the chuckles and laughs along the way make this a fun, entertaining ride.
Man, we are Harold or know somebody like this poor guy. Talk about having a few bad days. Therein lies the misadventures. It's not a thrill ride but it's not a snooze-fest, either. It's good with some excellent performances. It could have been tightened up a bit but it is what it is.
Not funny and a stale plot. Miscast of major stars.
Original and hilariously funny! Well acted and directed...sequel?
