Welcome back to Virgin River with the books that started it all... Four years ago, air force sweethearts Franci Duncan and Sean Riordan reached an impasse. She wanted marriage and a family. He didn't. But a chance meeting proves that the bitter breakup hasn't cooled their sizzling chemistry. Sean has settled down in spite of himself - he's not the cocky young fighter pilot he was when Franci left, and he wants them to try again. After all, they have a history... but that's not all they share. Franci's secret reason for walking away when Sean refused to commit is now three and a half: a redheaded cherub named Rosie who shares her daddy's emerald-green eyes. Sean is stunned - and furious with Franci for the deception. News travels fast in Virgin River, and soon the whole town is taking sides. Rebuilding their trust could take a small miracle - and the kind of love that can move mountains.

As always, another easy, quick, feel good read from Carr. This is the 9th in the Virgin River series, and the hits just keep on coming. I read other books and other series, but I know I can always come home to Virgin River to get a recharge and feel good about the world again. This story focuses on Sean Riordan and Franci, with Luke and Shelby and Noah and Ellie in the background, and a little whirlwind romance for Maureen on the side. Other prior characters are mentioned as well, which always brings the good feelings of the previous novels up to the surface. I know it's a little cheesy, but I love the weddings, the babies and the relationships in this series. Yes, everything seems to end well and everyone is paired up by the end of the novel, but that's what I keep coming back for. I hope Carr keeps these books light and full of love and good feelings- because that's what we're expecting at this point, and why I keep reaching for Carr's novels.
There are a few sticking points here- there always are. I'll admit there are probably too many characters whose professions involves lady parts. Aiden is a huge pain in this novel, and TJ is made out to be the most vile boyfriend ever when compared with Sean. Rosie grates on your nerves at times, and Maureen's religious views always get me angry (but that's for personal reasons I suppose).
Other than that, this was a rather enjoyable read. I can absolutely see myself re-reading this series in the future, just to get that feeling back that these books give me.

This author has written 20 books around the Virgin River theme, building a heart warming community of wonderful characters. For those of us reading the series, the part of the book that lost you is a treasure for others. Start with Virgin River. You might love it, too!

A fast read. However, I was a bit disappointed in the book. I really enjoyed the love story between the main characters. Yet, the last 1/3 of the book barely had their story. The author brought in other characters and their story lines that didn't interest me as much. It was my first book of this author's. Hoping others don't follow the same trend.
