Bob Woodward's new book, Rage, is an unprecedented and intimate tour de force of new reporting on the Trump presidency facing a global pandemic, economic disaster and racial unrest. Woodward, the #1 international bestselling author of Fear: Trump in the White House , has uncovered the precise moment the president was warned that the Covid-19 epidemic would be the biggest national security threat to his presidency. In dramatic detail, Woodward takes readers into the Oval Office as Trump's head pops up when he is told in January 2020 that the pandemic could reach the scale of the 1918 Spanish Flu that killed 675,000 Americans. In 17 on-the-record interviews with Woodward over seven volatile months—an utterly vivid window into Trump's mind—the president provides a self-portrait that is part denial and part combative interchange mixed with surprising moments of doubt as he glimpses the perils in the presidency and what he calls the "dynamite behind every door." At key decision points, Rage shows how Trump's responses to the crises of 2020 were rooted in the instincts, habits and style he developed during his first three years as president. Revisiting the earliest days of the Trump presidency, Rage reveals how Secretary of Defense James Mattis, Secretary of State Rex Tillerson and Director of National Intelligence Dan Coats struggled to keep the country safe as the president dismantled any semblance of collegial national security decision making. Rage draws from hundreds of hours of interviews with firsthand witnesses as well as participants' notes, emails, diaries, calendars and confidential documents. Woodward obtained 25 never-seen personal letters exchanged between Trump and North Korean leader Kim Jong Un, who describes the bond between the two leaders as out of a "fantasy film." Trump insists to Woodward he will triumph over Covid-19 and the economic calamity. "Don't worry about it, Bob. Okay?" Trump told the author in July. "Don't worry about it. We'll get to do another book. You'll find I was right."

CIA asset Woodward is at it again! Although not a fan of Trump, I realize that he has disrupted the Rockefeller Plan -- the Wall Street-directed communist takeover of America! America's China Class, established over the decades since 1973 when Nixon, Kissinger and David Rockefeller met with Mao Zedong and Chou Enlai in Beijing. Remember, in China only the CCP owns all the land and leases it out as they see fit! Exactly what the Owners want here! Tell me I am not the only one who recalls the extraordinary # of deaths under Obama -- $$$$ to ISIS when they claimed to be Syrian rebels -- $$$ to Iran which to kill innocents in Yemen, Syria, Gaza, Iraq -- $$$ for the coup in Honduras, for the turmoil in Ukraine, etc.

The last sentence sums it up. "When his performance as president is taken in its entirety, I can only reach one conclusion: Trump is the wrong man for the job."

Reading Trump' words in print show how unfocused and rambling his mind is. As someone said, his attention span is a minus number. How sad.,

One common word comes up in many reviews for this book: exhausting. This is how I felt while reading it--not because of Bob, but because of the unbelievable things I was reading about. Many "damning" facts are brought up throughout this book including how Trump knew that the COVID-19 virus was deadly AND airborne way back at the beginning of 2020 but downplayed it for MONTHS because it came at a bad timing (his final year before reelection). A very eye-opening book, worth reading if you want to take a closer look at Trump.

This one was a bit exhausting. Woodward's recounting of his conversations with Trump portray the conversation with a thoughtful journalist and a brick wall.

Bob Woodward has written another balanced, heavily researched and documented book, this time focused on the Trump presidency. He provides numerous direct quotes, possible because of his history and reputation for fairness and the fact that he actually recorded 17 interviews with the President. The final line says it all. Reading this book made me realize how exhausted I am after these four tumultuous years.
