A solid 3rd season. Wonderful cinematography. Well worth a watch.

Sadly, this series has taken a nosedive in quality entertainment. After a sensational season one, we are given a mediocre script in season 3. Except for the 5-minute wedding reception in episode one, the show is painfully boring. When the focus is not on Villanelle, my attention drifts elsewhere. Nothing memorable or exciting. While Villanelle receives plenty of face-time, her character takes a backseat to the other actors. Even Konstantin's laugh becomes annoying. The series needs a NEW WRITER! I think giving season three 2 1/2 stars is very generous.

Best reasons for watching the 3rd season: new dimensions to Villanelle, via a formative teenage episode and her attempts to reconnect with family in Russia. The reunion is hilarious...absolutely inspired. Jodie Comer owns this season. Sandra Oh is there, of course, but...even her erstwhile husband Niko (Owen McDonnell) gets to upstage her in a most outrageous way.

Kudos also to reoccurring character, Dasha (Harriet Walter), Oksana's former trainer. Great performance in a great part.

The story is kinda limps along, but as a series of crazy character studies, it's among the best bets on TV (and DVD) these days.
