In was a one-in-a-million chance. A bag crammed with cash comes tumbling through the air and lands right at Damian's feet. Suddenly Damian and his brother, Anthony, are very rich. Very rich indeed. And the boys can buy everything they like -- except the one thing they really need. Millions can't buy you happiness, but it can buy you: - 7,692 Shogun BMX Bikes - 66,589 travel-size monopoly sets or - 168,656 stuffed-crust pizzas. They had millions. Pity they only had days to spend it.

I enjoyed this young adult book about a boy who experiences what many of us imagine -- suddenly finding a big bag of money. More specifically, a bag of money falls out of the sky, a particularly significant experience for a boy who is obsessed with saints. What I liked about the book is that it asks us to consider lots of important questions, and it invites us to look at the situation through the lenses of economist, theologian, philosopher, philanthropist, social worker, child, parent, teacher.... The mini-inflation in the school population was a useful teaching story. I liked Damian's neuro-atypical approach, with extreme literalness and honesty, his kindness, his motivation to be excellent (as he understands what that is, often different from the perspective of a parent or teacher) and his struggle to figure out the answer to problems, spiced with encounters with some of the saints who offer solutions. I enjoyed the contrast between Damian and his older brother, Anthony, who has more social moxie but his own set of obsessions.

This book has so much going on. A little mystery, humor, and suspense makes for an exciting story.
