A Superman film that to me anyway, plays out more as a tribute and homage to the first two Christopher Reeve films. I loved Kevin Spacey as Lex Luthor as he brings just the right amount of vicious menace to the role, unlike Gene Hackman who played Luthor as a more comedic, sarcastic character. Spacey's Lex comes across as far more sinister. And while I enjoyed Brandon Routh's portrayal of Clark Kent and Superman, he seemed more in my eyes to be channeling Reeve, so his interpretation came off without originality, something I would've preferred. Regardless of it's shortcomings, this is a wonderful movie, and I love the direct homage to past Superman films and glad to hear the tribute to John WIlliams score.
