Around WWII, a returning Japanese-American soldier is charged with he murder of a white neighbor over land stolen from his father while the Japanese-American family was confined to a concentration camps for Japanese-American citizens living in California. The story portrays the white populace, some prejudiced against the Japanese-Americans, others that know the Japanese-Americans were patriotic. This small film garnered an Oscar nomination for cinematography along with wins for cinematograph at the Chicago, Las Vegas, and Dallas-Fort Worth film festivals.
