The Carrie Diaries by Candace Bushnell is a coming of age novel about Carrie Bradshaw. She's in her senior year dealing with typical teenage drama; boyfriends, mean friends, dysfunctional families, and an uncertain future. I really like Carrie because she is so strong-willed, independent, and ambitious. She wasn’t afraid to stand up for herself and she did whatever it took to achieve her dreams. Her ability to pick herself up and put a smile on her face despite all the obstacles she encountered, makes her a role model for women of all ages to look up to. She inspired me to believe in myself more and know that anything is possible. I would definitely recommend this book to teenage girls as most teenage girls will relate to the experiences that Carrie goes through in her teenage years. I was struggling to read the book in the first half and I found it boring; however, the second half was better and I found it pretty interesting. Rating: 4 stars
