The second book in Anam's trilogy, this book addresses the rise of Islamic radicalism seen through the family lens of those who fought in the revolution for Bangladeshi independence. The daughter is now a doctor; the son, given the ravages of war, becomes a religious leader. A perfect blending of the personal and the political.
