I was really looking forward to this book as it's been awhile & I've always been a huge fan of the gang. However, this is very different than the rest of the series. Characters in a series like this age & their lives change as they should. But gone are the scenes & wit that made me laugh out loud as I read. I agree with the Booklist review.
Myron is facing alot of personal issues & feels the weight of responsibility for so many others. This is a much more sombre, sad & reflective Myron. Even Win seems a little tired (three pages of lame "Mee & Yu" jokes). The story is slow in places with Myron being deeply introspective. Perhaps if I hadn't read the others I would have enjoyed it more. Anyhoo, there are big changes in store for the whole gang if there is a follow-up.
