Just like her heroine, Alex Winslow, Danielle Steel may have found her touch again. I did not particularly care for the last few Steel books I read but this one struck a chord. Alex is orphaned at fourteen but not before her father bequeathed a love of mystery thrillers. Alex is a born writer and becomes a successful writer albeit under a pseudonym since she is convinced only men can write thrillers - another legacy of her father's beliefs. She gets a thriller published under the pseudonym A. Green when she is still in college and it is a runaway success. Only her friends the nuns at the convent she lives in, her editor, and her agent know the true identity of A.Green. Despite this she is unlucky in men- -from a TA at college to a successful magnate she meets in London everyone is threatened by Alex. Will she ever find true love? A book worth reading to find out.
