It is in the very beginning of this book, in the first sentence of the preface that author Ann McElhinney says that she "never trusted or liked pro-life activists". She thought them too earnest, too religious and that their shocking images were manipulative and must've been "Photoshopped". Ann didn't change her opinion until sifting through the testimony/evidence of Kermit Gosnell's trial and talking to many of the key players, including Gosnell himself. The images and testimony Ann saw and heard regarding abortion and what a "good abortion" was, came not from pro-life activists but from police detectives, medical examiners and workers at Gosnell's clinic. There was testimony from OB/gyn's who had been performing abortions for decades. It was THEIR testimony that told the facts of what abortion is. Writing the book changed Ann and Phelim's minds about abortion. Reading it may change yours as well. It's well written and worthy of your time, a real page turner because it's true. There's no fluff here, no pretty euphemisms and no political correctness. Read it if you dare.
