This might be the worst book I've ever read. I never would have finished it if not obligated to do so by my book club. It was physically painful. I grew to despise the protagonist, who, as the story progressed, not only failed to improve and learn from her mistakes, she actually got worse. There were a couple of side characters that I didn't find objectionable, but they hardly made plodding through this 300 page nightmare worth my time. The story meanders without any real structure, direction, or resolution. It just sort of whimpers and deflates. The author's writing is abysmal. She tells rather than shows us what happens, summarizing scenes and conversations instead of letting us watch them unfold, and the structuring of her dialogue is confusing and distracting. The book is amateurish on many levels; I can't believe it got published. Do yourself a favor and skip it.
